Are you ready for a change?

Are you struggling with a life transition?  Are you feeling depressed,  anxious, or that your emotions are getting to be too much to handle?  Do you wake up in the morning and struggle to get out of bed or struggle to get through your day?

Are you ready to move forward and learn new ways of facing life's challenges?  It is possible and may take less time than you think.

  • Facing the day with hope rather than despair,

  • Facing challenges head on and having faith that you will succeed,

  • Having a goal and a plan and support to get there,

  • Forming deeper connections with those closest to you,

  • Rediscovering your passion and confidence,

  • Rediscovering hope.

When life becomes particularly difficult, it can help to have someone guide you along the way.  The decision to come to counselling is never an easy one and takes both strength and courage.  There is help.  There is hope.

Change is possible.

I will work with you on a wide variety of issues, however I do have two very diverse, but equal areas of passion: Anxiety and Psycho-Educational assessments.

Anxiety

Anxiety can have a profound impact on a person’s life.  It impacts not only the affected person but also their family and social relationships.  The good news?  - Anxiety is one of the most treatable disorders.  While we do not yet know exactly what causes anxiety, we do know that it develops from a combination of biology, psychology, and other individual factors.

We also know how to treat it and manage it.  Everyone worries from time to time, but when anxiety starts to take over and impact day-to-day living and family life, it is time to take a closer look.

Do you suffer from anxiety? Are you ready to move forward and learn new ways of facing life’s challenges?  It is possible.  You can read more about anxiety here.

Psycho-Educational Assessments

Is your child struggling in school or not learning at the rate you expected?  I view children’s learning struggles as a puzzle that can be solved.  Using a combination of cognitive, attention, memory, academic, developmental, and social/emotional assessments, we can unravel this puzzle.

Learning struggles can leave a family feeling isolated and confused.  Together, we can identify your child’s specific strengths and areas of need and provide concrete strategies to make immediate changes both at home and at school.  Families and students can move forward empowered and confident that change is possible.
